The other universities have done everything in their power to comply with the recommendations of the General Medical Council, and even the Calcutta University recognised the right of the Medical Council to examine the teaching institutions, but when it came to the examinations themselves being inspected they refused as a matter of principle. Undoubtelv the University is quite within its rights in refusing outside interference with the examinations, and the only question for decision is whether the General Medical Council is not also within its rights in withdrawing recognition of the degrees.
